FLaRes
FLaRes is an abbreviation of the project name Finland developing and deploying the Laboratory Result Report as a new cross-border service under the MyHealth@EU infrastructure in Finland.
The FLaRes project aims to develop and deploy the Laboratory Result Report (LRR) service, enabling Finland to send and receive laboratory data across borders.
Finland is participating together with other European Union Member States in the development of cross-border health services in Europe. EU countries can securely and efficiently exchange health data through the digital service infrastructure for health services (MyHealth@EU). This system ensures continuity of care for EU citizens when they move across borders. Citizens can easily identify the available services by the MyHealth@EU label (My Health @ EU).
In Finland, the following cross-border health services have already been implemented: electronic prescriptions, electronic dispensing of medicines, and the electronic Patient Summary.
Project information
The project is funded for the period 2025–2028. The project is implemented by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) and the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela). THL is responsible for the data structures and semantic interoperability of laboratory data. Kela is responsible for the technical interoperability of the services and acts as the National Contact Point for eHealth (NCPeH).
