Social Security and Services
We research social security and related services and benefits. Our focus lies on researching topical phenomena of social protection and offering science advice as well as expert support for social policy reforms.
The aim of our work is to provide research knowledge on social protection in all stages of decision-making process as well as the population and the scientific community. We collaborate with the Finnish Social Security Committee as well as the ‘SOTU group’ of the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare that supports the work of the Committee.
Our other key activities and projects include:
- Evaluation Study of the Governmental Work Ability Programme
- Social welfare development programme
- Monitoring the level of basic social security and assessing its adequacy
- INVEST - Flagship for research on inequality, interventions and the welfare society
- The distributional effects of social and health care in Finland (SOTE-SISU)
- SOPU - Social fundamental and human rights in social security reform (VN Teas)
