My story

Moving to a new country is a big life change that has impacts also on mental health.

In these videos, people with refugee backgrounds relate their own stories. They talk of the challenges they have faces and what has helped them to keep moving forward.

The stories give courage, strength and hope. It is possible to overcome difficulties and move on. You too have the right to have your own story.

As a refugee, Arezo has strongly felt like an outsider and has also suffered deep loss. As she has searched for her place in life, she has learned an important lesson.

Despite harsh experiences and difficulties, Kordnejad enjoys his everyday life. He has found effective ways to take care of his own well-being.

The sisters Edwidge and Elodie, who spent their childhood in a refugee camp, have adapted to life in Finland at different speeds. The journey has included both homesickness and enthusiasm for new opportunities.
