Summary: The European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (EFCNI) is the first pan-European organisation and network to represent the interests of preterm and newborn infants and their families. EFCNI has established a worldwide network of individual parents, preterm born adults and healthcare professionals as well as a strong connection to the respective societies. The lecture will focus on how research institutions can involve EFCNI to strengthen the role in patient/parent representation, to ensure target specific communication outreach as well as to establish a participatory research process.
